Safe Piping Matters has adopted this Privacy Policy (“Policy”) to govern the collection, use, and storage of data. (“Safe Piping Matters,” “We” or “Us,” as used in this Policy, may include Safe Piping Matters affiliated entities.) Safe Piping Matters is a not-for-profit coalition of leaders in labor, fire safety, the piping industry, and government advocates that works to educate stakeholders and the general public about the ways in which piping materials used for service lines, water mains, and drain, waste, and vent systems impact human health and safety, water quality, and the environment. Safe Piping Matters regards the issue of privacy, and the privacy of our users, members, and staff, with the upmost concern and seriousness. This Policy serves to educate and inform our users on how Safe Piping Matters collects, uses, and protects the information in which we collect. This Policy governs all forms of Personal Information collected by Safe Piping Matters whether electronic, written, or oral. By accessing our website or providing your information to us, you accept and agree to the practices described in this Policy.

What Types of Information We Collect

            When you visit our website and engage with our service(s), Safe Piping Matters collects a variety of information about you – potentially including your name, job title, e-mail address, company name, residential address, phone number, credit card information, IP address, and industry/career demographics, all of which identifies you as an individual or is information that can be linked to you as an individual (“Personal Information”).

            Users browsing the public portions of Safe Piping Matters’ website may do so anonymously, without providing any detailed information. Personal Information is required, however, in connection with registering for the site. In addition, Personal Information may be requested as it relates to membership registration, event activities, purchasing products or services, requesting additional information, signing up for newsletters or mailing lists, or submitting questions through the site.

            A visitor will typically know when Safe Piping Matters is collecting Personal Information because in order for said information to be collected, the visitor will have to fill out a form. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of any site linked within our website. Links to other sites in no way imply an endorsement, sponsorship, or approval of the products, services, or privacy and security practices of those linked websites.

Our Security Protections

            Safe Piping Matters uses commercially reasonable efforts to ensure that our practices of collecting data are consistent with applicable laws and regulations. We exercise, and are committed to, great care in providing secure transmission and storage of data. No data transmission or storage is 100% secure, however, and as thus we cannot warrant that all data transmitted, stored, and collected will be completely and totally secure. We take commercially reasonable measures to create and maintain firewalls, restricted access, and other appropriate and efficient safeguards to ensure that, to the extend we control information, the information is used only as authorized by us as detailed within this Policy.

Your Privacy Options

            We take your privacy very seriously, and with much respect. We recognize your right to limit how we contact you and share your information. If contacted, we will take measures to correct, update, or remove collected Personal Information at the discretion of you, the visitor.

            When Safe Piping Matters contacts any visitors/users via e-mail, all messages will contain instructions or links to Opt-In or Opt-Out (unsubscribe) from our future mailings. Moreover, e-mail addresses may be removed entirely from Safe Piping Matters e-mail lists at any time by reaching out to Safe Piping Matters as outlined below.  

            Safe Piping Matters recognizes that users have the right to access their Personal Information. When requested to remove data, we will respond within a reasonable timeframe.

            When requested, Safe Piping Matters will provide the visitor with information about the Personal Information that we hold, if any. Visitors may correct, update, or remove Personal Information from our system by logging into their profile or by inquiring about the matter at the contact information that is provided at the end of this Policy. Requests will typically receive a response within thirty (30) days. If access is unable to be provided within thirty days, we will provide the requesting visitor with an estimated date by which the Personal Information will be provided. If, in some circumstance, access is denied, we will provide an update and detailing as to why access has been denied.
